On Tuesday, April 3rd, the State Street Pub in Indianapolis will be putting on a live concert at their location on 243 North State Avenue. The show will feature two local Indianapolis acts, Peter & The Kings, and Adam Gross, as well as David Brown from Bloomington.
David Brown
David Brown is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and composer based out of Bloomington, Indiana. According to his website, “He has made records and toured for over a decade, both as a member of the band Secondary Modern, and now on his own under his own name and the occasional pseudonym David Brown and the Tomorrowmen”.
David Brown released a collection of covers, “Das Bastard” in 2013, in which he recorded all of the instrumentation and vocals himself. Brown’s first official EP, “David Brown is Losing His Mind”, came out in 2013 as well. In 2016, he released the album “David Brown and the Tomorrowmen”, Brown’s first full-length. Peter & The Kings
Peter & The Kings is a psych rock band from Indianapolis currently signed on Magnetic South Recordings. Their first, and so far only release is an EP titled, “I Everything”. The EP came out in 2015, and you can listen to it on Peter & The Kings’ Bandcamp page.
Peter & The Kings consists of Peter King (guitar, vocals), Benny Sanders (bass), Duncan Kissinger (drums), and Landon Caldwell (keys). You can find Peter & The Kings on Facebook.
Adam Gross
Adam Gross is the frontman for the bands Amo Joy and S.M. Wolf, but will appear at the State Street Pub with new solo material to perform. S.M. Wolf, which was originally a project that Amo Joy frontman Adam Gross started alone, just to record half of a split cassette tape with Sorry Joint in the spring.
Needless to say, S.M. Wolf took off shortly after Gross wrote their self-titled debut EP. The band released three additional albums after they formed. The most recent of these, “The Awful Spring” came out in 2016. You can listen to S.M. Wolf on Bandcamp, to get a better idea of what to maybe expect from Gross’ performance.
The show with David Brown, Peter & The Kings, and Adam Gross starts at 9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 3rd at the State Street Pub. a six dollar cover will get you in the door, unless of course you’re under twenty-one. Then you might have to sit this one out.
