Preview: The Social Animals come to The Hi-Fi

Next Monday, March 12th, The Hi-Fi in Fountain Square will once again be offering live music for any locals in Indy with a ‘case of the Mondays’. Taking the stage on Monday night will be The Social Animals. Joining them are The Brothers Footman.

The Social Animals

The Social Animals are an indie rock band that formed in 2012 in Duluth, Minnesota. The band relocated to Portland, Oregon in 2014, and spent the next few years touring and playing live shows. In 2016, The Social Animals released their debut “Formative Years EP”, which remains their only album release to date. In 2017, they came out with the single, “Cheer Up Charlie”. You can listen to their latest single and more by visiting the band’s SoundCloud page.

The members that make up The Social Animals are Dedric Clark (vocals, rhythm guitar), Tony Petersen (backing vocals, lead guitar), Boyd Smith (drums), and Roger Whittet (backing vocals, bass)

The Brothers Footman

The Brothers Footman are a local Indianapolis group whose sound is an eclectic mix of country, gospel, Motown, and R&B. The four Footman brothers, Dikembe, Gerald, Micah, and Joshua Footman, have been surrounded by music their entire lives, and grew up together singing in their Church choir.

In an article published last year, the Indianapolis Recorder had this to say about The Brothers Footman. “The brothers say their success is due to the fact that they are unapologetically themselves. They hope a sense of authenticity reflects in their music”.

So far, The Brothers Footman have only released one single, “Country Sky”, which has already been played on both local and international radio.

The show with The Social Animals and The Brothers Footman starts at 8:00 pm on Monday, March 12th. The doors to The Hi-Fi open at 7:00, and tickets are ten dollars.
