On Friday, March 23rd, Fountain Square Brewing Co. has a great lineup of bands to play the second to last show of their winter concert series. Awake the Wilde is headlining, and they’ll be joined by Union Suit Rally, and Pinky and the Basterds.
Awake the Wilde
Awake the Wilde is a five-piece rock band that fuses the genres of funk, pop, and blues into their overall sound. Based in Indianapolis, the band released their debut, and so far only album, “Concrete Catharsis” in 2016. You can listen to it for free by streaming it on their Bandcamp page.
If you like The Red Hot Chili Peppers and/or most classic rock, there’s a good chance you’ll find something to like in Awake the Wilde. Their songs are high-energy, fuzz-filled bursts of funky rhythms, groovy bass, and soulful blues lines.

Union Suit Rally
Union Suit Rally is a massive, eight member alt-country, blues and folk rock band from Indianapolis that formed in 2015. The band’s Facebook profile states that they are “True Midwestern originals with a passion for playing music and writing songs. Pairs well with whiskey”.
The members of Union Suit Rally are Brad Powers (guitar, lead vocals), Matt Wilson (guitar), Matt Suever (guitar), Dan Carr (guitar), Brandon Lytle (bass), Randall Sharkey (banjo), Chris Cunningham (mandolin), and Jeremi Wright (drums). You can find Union Suit Rally on Facebook.
Pinky and the Basterds
Pinky and the Basterds is another local Indianapolis rock band. The only claim that they make is that they “make music that rocks, drink beer, and have fun”. The band consists of David Bailey (drums), Nate Gray (bass), Steve Lee (vocals), and Chris Sarber (guitar).

The penultimate show of Fountain Square Brewing’s winter concert series starts at 8:00 pm on Friday, March 23rd. Tickets bought in advance are seven dollars, and ten at the door.
