Preview: Jeff Austin Band at The Hi-Fi

On Saturday, March 10th, The Hi-Fi in Fountain Square, Indianapolis will be bringing several bluegrass and folk bands to their stage for a night of finger picking, feet stomping, and whiskey-filled tunes.  Headlining the night will be the Jeff Austin Band. Also taking the stage will be The Sweet Lillies and The Stampede String Band.

Jeff Austin Band

Jeff Austin is an Americana and electro-bluegrass mandolinist from Chicago, Illinois who has been performing since 1998, when he became a part of the Yoder Mountain String Band. On his Facebook profile page, Austin claims that, ““My ideal sound is between Phish, My Morning Jacket, and Zac Brown Band”. Jeff Austin released his debut solo album, “The Simple Truth” in 2015.

The Sweet Lillies

The Sweet Lillies is an Americana band from Boulder, Colorado that celebrates women in bluegrass. With their high-energy live performances, The Sweet Lillies have already become a Colorado treasure. Their Facebook profile states that, “The band, formed in November of 2013, credits its appeal to the original and compelling songwriting of three women who share an unwavering commitment to life on the road”. 

The Sweet Lillies released their debut, self-titled album in 2016. So far, it is their only album to date. You can listen to it by visiting the Sweet Lillies’ Bandcamp page.

The Stampede String Band

The Stampede String Band is an Americana, folk, and bluegrass band from Moonsville, Indiana. In 2013, they released their debut album “Moonsville”. The Stampede String Band also recorded a live album, “FIVE: Live at The Hi-Fi”. You can listen to “Moonsville” on Bandcamp.

The show with Jeff Austin Band, the Sweet Lillies, and The Stampede String Band starts at 9:00 pm on Saturday, March 10th. Doors to The Hi-Fi open at 8:00 pm, and tickets are twenty dollars.
