Actor Om Prakash’s Death Anniversary


Veteran Actor Om Prakash expired on this day in 1998. He was mostly seen in character roles. Born Om Prakash Chibber in Jammu, he would play female roles in stage plays organized by Dewan Mandir Natak Samaj in his birthplace. His Bollywood career began in 1942 and was active between the 1950s and 1980s.

Dilip Kumar once revealed that he was afraid only once in his life and that was when he was acting with Om Prakash in Gopi (1970) and his performance was overshadowed by that of the late actor. Critics still think that Om Prakash could perform better in a tragic scene than even Thespian Dilip Kumar!
