NEW YORK (AP) – The Latest on the agility championship at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show:

10:50 p.m.

A border collie named Fame(US) (FAYM’-uhs) has whirled to a win in the Westminster Kennel Club dog show’s agility championship.

Fame(US) took the title Saturday night, with handler Jessica Ajoux of Sparta, New Jersey.

And a dog called Jefe (HEHF’-ay) got a special award for top mixed-breed. Jefe is handled by Liza Buckner of Sebastopol, California.

As many as 330 dogs from Yorkshire terriers to German shepherds vied for the championship. A record 29 were mixed-breeds.

The prestigious Westminster show added agility in 2014. Dogs navigate a timed course of jumps, turns, ramps, poles and tunnels.

Handler Leslie Holm says the biggest reward isn’t a ribbon or title – it’s her connection with her dog, Riley Nico (NEE’-koh), a mixed breed.
