Main hoon tujhpe sun fida – Asha Bhonsle – Rajesh Roshan – Parveen Babi | Telephone (1985)


Movie: This song appeared in 1985 Ramsay Pictures’ suspense drama Telephone directed by Shyam Ramsay and Tulsi Ramsay and produced by Kumar Ramsay. The movie starred Shatrughan Sinha, late Parveen Babi, Marc Zuber, Deepti Naval, Leela Mishra, etc.

Suresh (Shatrughan Sinha) runs a well-to-do business with his best friend Dinesh (Marc Zuber). Dinesh is actually a smuggler and runs his illegal activities in their company, right under Suresh’s nose. When Suresh catches his friend red-handed, the former forces the latter to leave the company. Dinesh avenges his insult by throwing Suresh’s secretary Rajni (Deepti Naval) out of the window of their high rise office building and frames his bestie, in the crime. Suresh is arrested but is released on bail because of his good track record.

On hearing of Rajni’s death, her sister Anita returns to India leaving her job, in London. Anita believes that Suresh killed her sister and begins to follow him, without his knowing. When Rajni comes face-to-face with him, Suresh is impressed by her beauty and finds out where she is living. He sends her flowers and invites her to a party that evening. Anita’s guardian and aunt (Leela Mishra) insists that she go to the party. When she attends the party, she lets on that she is impressed after he has sung a song.

To investigate her sister’s death further, Anita meets her sister’s friend and play actor Amrit (Prem Chopra) and makes friends with him. One day, Anita and Suresh are playing chess on his bed and she performs a dance in tune with this song, which she sings at that time.

The video opens with Parveen Babi tapping the side of the wooden bed in tune with the music, which has already begun. She begins to dance as well. Shatrughan Sinha smiles at her. She also begins to sing. She stands up on the bed. He watches her from a distance. She jumps from the bed onto the floor.

Jagdeep dances outside the house and is seen from the transparent glass of the door. She dances below the artificial waterfall inside the house. She becomes wet. He still keeps watching her in a controlled manner. The song peters out and the video ends as he is about to kiss her and she obstructs him from doing it.
