Clint Breeze & the Groove
Whether you’re an Indianapolis native like him — or from somewhere else throughout the country — Carrington Clinton is a name you’ll want to remember. With roots as a hip-hop producer and an unabashed love for jazz and soul music, this young man has created one of the most unique and interesting acts in the city. Clint Breeze & the Groove combines hip-hop, R&B, and jazz sounds in a way that most would never expect. The group has become one of the city’s most acclaimed acts and makes regular appearances at the Jazz Kitchen.
In November 2016. the band released a very well-received album titled “Nappy Head,” and has seen much success and admiration from jazz fans ever since. As a drummer and vocalist Breeze brings a wonderful, soulful spin to modern jazz and his extremely talented band is something that must be heard in an intimate, live setting. Nick and Joel Tucker, Jared Thompson, Jay Higginson, and Chris Pitts are some of the city’s most talented musicians and deserve a packed house every night they take the stage together.
Doors for the early show — a more traditional jazz performance — open at 5:00 pm and the band takes the stage at 7:30. The second, a more hip-hop inspired set, starts at 9:30 pm. Tickets for each set are $12 at the door.
