Juanes is the first to sing in Spanish on “The Late Show”

On Monday night, Colombian superstar Juanes made history on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. As part of the promotional tour for his new album “Mis Planes Son Amarte” (“My Plans Are to Love You”), Juanes performed an acoustic rendition of “Es Tarde” (“It’s Late”), one of the most popular tracks on the album.

The song is vintage Juanes, combining pop and Latin sounds into a crowd-pleasing ditty that had the live studio audience clapping their hands and swaying along. Already one of the most Latin American musicians, Juanes’ television appearance marks the next step in his campaign to become a household name in the United States.

Juanes recently announced the dates for a North American “Amarte Tour” along with the Chilean singer Mon Laferte, beginning in Orlando, Florida in April 2018.
