Next Saturday, December 23rd, come and celebrate Christmas with a concert at The Hi-Fi in Fountain Square, Indianapolis. Presented by Sun King Brewery, Crush Entertainment, and MOKB, the show will feature Kool Keith along with DJ Indiana Jones and Supa Emcee. There will be a free afterparty following the show with DJ Indiana Jones and special guests.
Kool Keith is a rapper and hip-hop artist who has donned multiple aliases throughout his career. Among these include Rhythm X, aka Dr. Octagon, aka Dr. Dooom, aka Mr. Gerbik. He started off rapping with the group Ultramagnetic MC’s, who released their debut album, “Critical Beatdown” in 1988. Kool Keith has collaborated with many notable rappers and MC’s including Ice-T, MF Doom, Marc Live, Black Silver, Pimp Rex, and more. In 1996, Kool Keith released his debut solo album “Dr. Octagonecologyst” under the name Dr. Octagon. Kool Keith’s dense lyrics often include the surreal and abstract, twisted together with a juvenile sense of humor and often incorporating multiple internal rhymes. Kool Keith’s most recent album, “Feature Magnetic”, came out in 2016.

DJ Indiana Jones
DJ Indiana Jones is Ron Minor, an Indianapolis native who got his start in the late ’80’s at Melody Skateland on the west side of Indianapolis. You might recognize him from RadioNow WNOU 100.9, where he works as an On-Air mixer. According to his Facebook profile, DJ Indiana Jones has opened for notable acts “…ranging from Run D.M.C. and Sean Paul to Sting and Destiny’s Child”. Along with his performance at The Hi-Fi next Saturday, DJ Indiana Jones will also be taking over the free afterparty.

Supa Emcee is a rapper and DJ from Detroit, Michigan, who made a name for himself in the underground rap battles scene and at open mics across the city. He has opened for acts like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, D-12, Ice Cube, Rakim, and more.

For those Indianapolis locals staying in town for Christmas, next Saturday’s show at The Hi-Fi will be one of the best, as well as unconventional, ways to celebrate the holiday season. Doors at The Hi-Fi open at 8:00 pm and the show starts at 9:00. Tickets for the event are twenty dollars.
