Earth, Wind & Fire to play Fort Wayne’s historic Embassy Theatre

An already exciting season of performances just got a little more interesting. Legendary pop-soul band, Earth, Wind & Fire is set to play Fort Wayne, Indiana’s Embassy Theatre. The performance is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21, 2018. The Embassy is located at 125 W. Jefferson Blvd. The coming year, 2018, marks the theater’s 90th anniversary. The roster of stellar performers signifies the Embassy’s history of bringing world-renown talent to the Summit City.

Tickets officially go on sale for Earth, Wind & Fire Friday, Dec. 15. Embassy members have early access to tickets and prices.

About Earth, Wind & Fire

Earth formed in Chicago in 1970. The group’s sound is characterized by deep grooves, smooth harmonies and the use of falsetto voices. Further, the instrumentation contains elements of several different genres. Those elements allow the band to make their signature sound. The various music types that Earth, Wind & Fire works into their songs include jazz, African, rock, and pop. The music occupies a range of types from ballads to groove-based classics that made people rush onto dancefloors and skating rinks in previous decades.

Songs such as “Shining Star,” “After the Love Has Gone,” “September,” and “Serpentine Fire” are just several of the tunes that helped create Earth, Wind & Fire’s reputation as a classic pop-soul band.

Industry accolades

The music industry has awarded Earth, Wind & Fire for their contributions to popular music. Awards include ASCAP – – which awarded the group the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Grammy Hall of Fame, NAACP Hall of Fame, and BET Lifetime Achievement Award. Further, the band has earned several American Music Awards, and they have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
