Singer-songwriter Jack Johnson has announced tour dates for 2018. Coming off the release of his newest album “All The Light Above it Too,” the artist just finished his 2017 tour and will be kicking off the new one in April of next year.
The newest album from Johnson, his 7th studio release, finds the artist reflecting on his experiences in the past year so, a time in which he explored, traveled, and fought for the environment. During that time he made a documentary about plastic pollution and wrote songs, writing little sketches describing his thoughts during his travels. This time around, though, he tried to keep the songs to their rawest form.
“All The Light Above it Too” was recorded in Hawaii at Johnson’s Mango Tree Studios, and features producer Robbie Lackritz (Feist, Bahamas), who helped Johnson expand the spirit of the songs alive while keeping them raw and true to the original sketches that Johnson made. On the album, Johnson played most of the instruments, hearkening back to the his original recordings almost twenty years ago.
One of Johnson’s songs for the album “My Mind is For Sale,” can be watched via lyric video at the top of this story. In the video, Johnson stacks up wooden blocks with his lyrics that protest the current state of politics and human relations.
Johnson’s 2018 tour will start in Texas and travel around the United States before heading to Europe, where he will play dates in England, France, and Germany. His album “All The Light Above it Too” is available now.
