Chris Pratt and Chris Stapleton sing a duet of “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life”

In case you missed it, Chris Pratt recently guest hosted Jimmy Kimmel live. In the midst of the show, he decided to bring rising country star Chris Stapleton out for a duet. To pick the song, Pratt unveiled the “Wheel of Cheesy Duets,” a device that leaves their duet destiny up to the fates.

Guillermo spun the wheel of chance, and the crowd cheered when it landed on “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” which is probably one of the most hated (and secretly loved) songs of all time. Soon the opening synth of the song washed over the stage, and Pratt began the song in a surprisingly rich voice:

“Now I’ve had the time of my life
No I never felt like this before

Yes I swear it’s the truth
and I owe it all to you”

Stapleton then rips into the song, displaying his soulful, powerful voice for the audience. He sings to Pratt with utter conviction:

“Cause I’ve had the time of my life
and I owe it all to you”

It just got sillier from there. Pratt and Stapleton got a little sassy together as the audience clapped the beat. In all honesty, though, they sounded pretty good together, and Stapleton proved throughout just how good his voice his.

When the song broke down into a cheesy saxophone solo, Stapleton begged Pratt to do “the lift” from Dirty Dancing, the movie which made the song so famous. Stapleton told him “I’m Jennifer Grey” and proceeded to run towards Pratt in the hope that he’d be able to lift him up just like in the famous movie scene. After a few attempts, the pair accomplished the task with the help of a little TV magic.

Stapleton also recently released a new album called “From A Room: Volume Two” for your listening pleasure. It’s in stores now.
