He is also a confused person, who is prone to romantic infatuations. Every time he finds a girl, he thinks that he has found his soul mate. Sid is a painter by profession and the most mature of the 3. He is not interested in trivial romances and is dedicated to his work.

When he sets his eyes on Shalini (Preity Zinta), during a college party, he sings a song to impress her. He gets beaten up by her fiancé Rohit (Ayub Khan). Akash engineers a breakup between Sameer and his current girlfriend Priya (Suchitra Pillai). Sid meets an older woman Tara Jaiswal (Dimple Kapadia) and requests her to permit him to paint her on canvas. She wears a pure white sari for the session and he is impressed by it. Tara is a divorcee and is an alcoholic. He actually falls in love with her when he gets to know about her problems with her ex-husband.

When Sid tells his friends about his love, Akash ridicules him. They have an altercation and Sid breaks his friendship with him. Sid leaves for Kasauli for an art workshop. Akash is sent to Australia by his father to take over their company work there. On the flight, Akash meets Shalini and they become friends. Shalini has come to Sydney to meet her maternal uncle. Rohit is a very possessive fiancé. He insists that she should not talk to any other man. His behavior is often like a torture to her. Akash and Shalini move around and begin to date, with her uncle’s permission. When Rohit comes to know about their meetings, he decides to visit Sydney himself. The 3 of them even go for picnics. It is during one such picnic that Akash and Shalini begin to sing this song.

Song: The lyrics of this song were penned by Javed Akhtar and the music was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

The gist of the song is that the man complains about falling in love and the girl supports the process of falling in love.

Video: Cinematography is by Ravi K Chandran. Dance choreography is by Farah Khan.

The video opens with Aamir Khan lying on a bed sheet in a picnic spot. The music has already begun. Preity Zinta is standing some distance away. She sits on a seat near the bay area. He comes and sits near her from the opposite side. He begins to sing the song. She gets up and begins to walk, shaking her head. He also begins to move along with her.

They are shown meeting each other at different places. Aamir Khan is seen shaking a few legs inside a train. He sits near her and continues the song. She looks up at him from the book, she is reading. Soon, they are seen sitting on a bench in a tree-shaded garden. She begins to sing this song. They go for a trip in a helicopter.

When they are back on land, she gives him a rose and he throws it away. But, the rose has changed hands and it is in his other hand. He offers it to her. When she catches hold of it, she gets only the twig. The rose is still with him. He begins to laugh. She is almost upset, but makes up her mood and takes the rose from him.

Artists: The playback of this song was sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik and the onscreen performances are by Aamir Khan and Preity Zinta.

Cultural Influence: There is not much cultural influence on this typically filmi song. It depicts the fallacy called love, according to the hero. The heroine, on the other hand, is all for love. The song and the artists are very good. The video is watchable for them.
