The long-awaited Gilbert baby is now here. Brantley Gilbert’s wife Amber gave birth to the couple’s first child, a son, on Saturday. Gilbert quickly shared the news of his son’s birth along with an adorable photo of Barrett Hardy-Clay Gilbert.

According to US Magazine, the baby was 6 pounds, 7 ounces and 20 inches long. Both mom and the new baby are doing just fine and Gilbert is a gushing new dad.

After the birth, a rep for the family said that the delivery was a fairly quick one. Barret was born at 1:37 pm at Piedmont Hospital in Athens, Georgia according to People.

“Honestly, I’m just speechless,” Gilbert later told People. “Watching the delivery, I don’t even know what to say. Amber and I are just so thankful and blessed to have this beautiful little boy.”

The couple wed back in 2015, but have been together for quite awhile. In fact, Amber and Brantley have been dating on and off again since the early 2000s. They officially called it quits in 2013, but Brantley always said she was the “one who got away.” A lot of his romantic music is reportedly about Amber.

“She’s been in my soul since the day I met her,” Gilbert told E! at the time of his wedding. “She has and will continue to inspire song after song in my life.”

A couple of the songs we know he wrote about Amber include “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” and ” More Than Miles.” Now that he’s got her back, the happy couple can continue to build their lives together and enjoy their new baby boy.

When it comes to his music, Gilbert will be on hiatus until next year when his tour schedule will start back up again. He starts out again on Feb.1 and continues touring through the end of June. Luckily, that will give him plenty of time to enjoy his growing family through the holidays and into the new year. You can check out his tour schedule, here.
