Connecting Indian Children’s Day With Bollywood


Today is the Indian Children’s Day. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was born on this day in 1889 and he celebrated his birthday every year as Children’s Day. He was one of the main people in Indian politics before and after India attained independence from the British Rule. He was one of the important leaders of the Indian Independence Movement under the aegis of Mahatma Gandhi. He became the first Prime Minister of India from the establishment of independent India in 1947 till his death in 1964. He is also considered to be the architect of the modern India as a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic. He came from a family of Kashmiri Pandits. Children knew him as Chacha Nehru or Uncle Nehru.
