Blake Shelton’s Texoma home’s been getting a lot of attention these days due to the release of his new album. But, now it’s getting attention for all the wrong reasons. Last week, a truck crashed into it.
What’s really crazy is that Shelton’s “Texoma Shore” album about the home released on the same day. Luckily, Shelton took the accident in stride and even joked about it later on.
“So, I’m talking about Texoma Shore, and I made the album at my lake house,” he said during an appearance on “Live With Kelly and Ryan.”
“There is a studio at my lake house in Oklahoma, and I just got a phone call. Somebody drove their truck through the front of my lake house, so if this album doesn’t hit, then that’s bad luck.”
Neighbors of Shelton heard the crash, and a water treatment employee saw the whole thing take place. According to KXII, the truck driver was working on Shelton’s pool and apparently failed to put the vehicle in park. He did try to stop the vehicle, but it wasn’t possible. The truck hit the front of the home, breaking a window, which crews quickly boarded up.
Now, Shelton is busy trying to sell albums to pay for the damage done to his home. His latest album, which is his 11th, was recorded directly on the shores of the Texoma lake. It looks like that won’t be a problem, however, because Shelton tends to have a lot of success with his music.
His last few projects have all gone Gold or Platinum, and last year’s album was the best-selling of the year. Fans love his first single from “Texoma Shores,” “I’ll Name the Dogs.” This week, it hit the No. 1 spot on iTunes and is getting a lot of great reviews.
Hopefully, Shelton will be able to put the mini-disaster behind him and move on to enjoying the success of his latest album.
