Lee Ann Womack releases new album, and it’s fantastic


Lee Ann Womack is returning to her roots with her new album, “The Lonely, The Lonesome and the Gone.” The album is a beautiful mix of country, gospel and soul. And, many are now saying that this album is the best one of her entire career.

The album is the first full-length one of Womack’s since 2014. Her husband produced it, and it has a selection of music that is perfect for Womack’s voice. She also tried her hand at writing more for this album, having co-written half of the tracks on the album.

Womack, 51, has had a beautiful career. She has seven albums and worked with two major recording labels over her career. She has a distinctive voice and a knack for creating beautiful songs that allow you to feel her emotions.

During her career, Womack’s had a numerous hits, but her most popular has always been “I Hope You Dance.” Not only did it hit No. 1 on the country charts, but it also crossed genres and made the pop 20 as well.

She draws inspiration to the music she grew up admiring, Dolly Parton, Ray Price and George Jones. Last week, Womack talked to the NY Times about that inspiration and specifically about Dolly Parton.

“When I heard her sing, I might not have understood what she was singing about, but something, the quiver in her voice, the emotion in her voice, sucked me in.”
