Preview: Frankie and The Witch Fingers


After getting a relaxing recovery day from Halloween night, Indianapolis locals can flock to the State Street Pub on Thursday. On November 2nd, the local bar and venue will have live music from Frankie and The Witch Fingers and Mkii. If you haven’t yet gotten your fill of holiday spookiness, The Witch Fingers are here to help.

Frankie and The Witch Fingers

Frankie and The Witch Fingers are a psychedelic soul and rock band from Los Angeles, California. Their members as listed on their Facebook page are Dylan Sizemore (vocals, guitar), Glenn Brigman (drums, farfisa), Josh Menashe (guitar/FX), and Alex Bulli (bass). Their profile also states that the genre of music they play is “Psychedelic Flower Power”. The band’s Bandcamp page lists that their debut album, “Sidewalk” released in 2013. Frankie and The Witch Fingers’ most recent album, “Heavy Roller”, released in 2016. Both are free to listen to on Bandcamp. To put it simply, Frankie and The Witch Fingers play upbeat, heavy tunes that are sure to get your feet moving. Their mission is to make you dance and have a good time, so why not let them?


Mkii is an alternative rock duo from the United Kingdom. According to their band profile, the group was started in 2014 by members Alex (guitars, vocals) and Andy (drums). While they fit solidly into the alternative rock genre, Mkii also incorporates influences from the progressive and symphonic sub genres. They list among their influences groups like MUSE, Radiohead, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, and Nirvana. During their shows, Mkii uses computer-controlled effects, catchy guitar riffs, and hooks with symphonic elements to achieve their unique sound. If anything, this British band brings a well-deserved and fresh take on alternative rock that’s worth a listen or two.

The show on Thursday, November 2nd kicks off at 9:00 pm just outside of Fountain Square at the State Street Pub, with a cover charge of six dollars.
