Luke Bryan is about to give fans a whole lot more of himself soon. The country music superstar just announced his plans to release a brand-new album. The release of “What Makes You Country” is scheduled for Dec. 8.
According to CMT, Bryan had some help writing the songs on the album. In fact, he had a lot of great Nashville songwriters write songs for him.
“My favorite part of making a new album is getting to collaborate with the songwriting community in this town. It is important to me to continue to push myself to grow on all levels, and I feel like we did that on this project,” Bryan said.
The new album will have 15 tracks on it. Bryan co-wrote 6 of those songs. Bryan currently has a countdown on his website to the release of the album. Several options for pre-orders are also currently available. Check out the full details of the release, here.
The singer has already released one single off that new album, “Light it Up.” It gives audiences their first look at the new music and is hopefully a representation of what the rest of the album will look like. Bryan wrote this song with Brad Tursi.
It is a romantic song about pining for a lost love. Bryan sings about wanting a girl to light up his phone and how he worries that she is with someone else. The mid-tempo melody and lyrics work perfectly with the theme of the song.

Bryan is extremely busy these days. Along with heading up his “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day Tour,” the country singer is in the middle of his annual “Farm Tour.” He’s also preparing to star in the reboot of American Idol next year.
Bryan will sit with Katie Perry and Lionel Richie as a judge on the reboot and will help find the next American Idol winner.
