This Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Emerson Theater, Famous Last Words will perform a live show. Sharing the stage with them will be Conquer Divide.
Famous Last Words
Formerly known as A Walking Memory, Famous Last Words is an American, post-hardcore band from Petoskey, Michigan. The band formed in 2010, and has released three studio albums to date: “Two-Faced Charade” (2013), “Council of the Dead” (2014), and “The Incubus” (2016). Famous Last Words currently consists of members Jeremy Tollas (lead vocals), Tyler Mycklebust (lead guitar, backing vocals, programming, strings), Matthew Bell (bass), and Evan Foley (rhythm guitar). In their music, Famous Last Words features heavy guitar riffs, catchy hooks, and symphonic elements, as well as detailed storytelling in their lyrics and album structure. Their appearance at Emerson Theater is just one stop on their “Octourber Fest” tour, during which they will be joined by Conquer Divide.

Conquer Divide is a metalcore and post-hardcore band whose members come from the United States, United Kingdom, and Serbia. The band was formed in 2012, although the concept for it began back in 2005. Conquer Divide’s members consist of six female musicians, Kristen Woutersz (guitar, vocals), Janel Duarte (guitar, vocals), Izzy Johnson (guitar), Sarah Stonebreaker (bass), Tamara Tadic (drums), and Kiarely Castillo (lead vocals). They released their debut album “Conquer Divide,” in 2015 through the label Artery Recordings. From the album, which remains as the group’s only full-length studio recording, Conquer Divide received a nomination for Best Song at the 2015 Relentless Karrang Awards for their single “At War.”
So if hardcore and post-metal music is your thing, you won’t want to miss this show at Emerson Theater. The music starts at 6:00 pm, and tickets range from twelve to fifteen dollars.
