Jason Aldean was just finishing up his set as the last performer at the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday when shots rang out. A shooter, now identified as Stephen Paddock, took aim at concert-goers from his room on the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay.

Following the shooting, nearly 60 people were dead, and  more than 500 were injured. Police found the shooter dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his suite. While the investigation is still underway and little is known about the shooter’s motive, country music stars and celebrities are speaking out about the shooting.

Jason Aldean and his wife, as well as his crew, are safe. Other singers, like Chris Young and Jake Owen who were both standing just backstage when the shots started, are also safe and accounted for. Naturally, the ordeal was incredibly horrifying for the singers and for everyone who attended the concert series.

Shortly after the shooting, country singers and celebrities alike started posting their thoughts and condolences regarding the shooting. Naturally, the stars who were present during the shooting are still pretty shook up over the whole ordeal. Owen posted some updates for his fans soon after the shooting ended.

And finally…

Jason Aldean also posted a tribute soon after the shooting. He also took the time to let his fans know that he and his wife, who was at the concert with Aldean, and his crew were also safe.

Other stars, even some of the ones who had played earlier in the weekend, were quick to comment on the shooting as well.

Others who were not at the performance also offered their condolences.

As of now, pieces are still being put together regarding the shooting. While police do know who the perpetrator was, little is known regarding what caused him to act in such a horrific way. But, for those lost, injured or otherwise affected by this mass shooting, answers will never be enough. Reports are saying this is the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.
