This seems to be one of the promotional videos of the film. It is a mishmash of shots from before the song. Fawad Khan, who also sings this song in the movie, is not seen anywhere in the video. I found this from Sony Music India, which is reliable. Thus, I selected this to depict this song on video.
Movie: This song appeared in 2016 romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (O Heart, this is Difficult) directed by Karan Johar, under the banner of Dharma Productions. The movie starred Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Lisa Haydon, Imran Abbas, Fawad Khan, etc.
A wannabe singer Ayan Sanger (Ranbir Kapoor) and Alizeh Khan (Anushka Sharma) meet in London by chance and end up kissing instinctively. They spend the night together talking to each other about themselves and come close. They begin double dating each other with his live-in girlfriend Lisa D’Souza (Lisa Haydon) and her betrothed Dr. Faisal Khan (Imran Abbas). On one such date, they meet at a silent discotheque and Alizeh tells the DJ (Alia Bhatt) to play the breakup song.
Before the night is over, Lisa and Dr. Faisal are seen making out together in the gents washroom. Ayan and Alizeh breakup with their girlfriend and boyfriend, respectively. Post a comic and dramatic withdrawal of Ayan from his girlfriend, Alizeh plans a trip to Paris with Ayan. They are happy together. But, she meets her former boyfriend Ali (Fawad Khan) and everything goes topsy-turvy. Alizeh tells Ayan to leave and goes with Ali to Lucknow, India where he proposes to her and they decide to get married. Alizeh asks Ayan to be present in the wedding and after some hesitation, he comes. This is the song Ayan sings with Ali during the wedding.
Song: The music of this song was scored by Pritam and the lyrics were penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The gist of the song is, “No Punjabi girl is like you in the entire village. Your style is too good. Why are you sitting at the window and blushing? Come to the verandah.”
Video: Cinematography is by Anil Mehta. Dance choreography is by Tushar Kalia.
The video opens with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in different funny poses emulating Bollywood songs and some of the shots are from before this song in the movie. This is shown all through the video.
Ranbir Kapoor is wearing a traditional North Indian dress and begins the song on the mike. He performs a few dance steps, as well. He also dances with Anushka Sharma. The song and the video end abruptly.
Artists: The playback of the song has been sung by Pradeep Singh Sran and Nakash Aziz and the onscreen performances are by Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and others.
Cultural Influence: This typically filmi song is sung by the hero for the heroine, who is getting married to someone else, as her boyfriend. This seems a little different story. But, the difference ends there. The song and the artists attract the youth. They watch it for the same.
