If there is one thing you haven’t already learned about Garth Brooks, you should know that he loves his fans. This is something the country music superstar proved when he offered one couple a tremendous gift last week. While he was performing “Unanswered Prayers” in Oklahoma City on June 15, he noticed something going on in the audience.
It turned out that Drew Bargsley was busy proposing to his girlfriend, Chelsea Townsend. The couple, who reside in Dallas, caught the attention of Brooks who quickly quizzed them about their future plans. Eventually, the star offered to pay for a honeymoon for the couple. Now, the couple is busy planning their wedding and a honeymoon to Hawaii.
While chatting with the couple, Brooks asked Drew how long he had been planning the proposal. Drew admitted that it was a long time coming and that he had been planning it for three months.
Leading up to the proposal, Drew posted a few things on Facebook regarding the concert. The couple were relatively close to the floor and the stage, which wound up making it easy for Garth to see them.
After the proposal, Drew continued posting on social media. His future wife also took a moment to change her status to engaged.
Drew’s status was probably the most entertaining, however. “When you shut down the ENTIRE GARTH CONCERT Proposing to the love of your life…OOPs,” he wrote. Luckily, the other concert goers took the interruption in stride and didn’t seem to mind at all.

Naturally, after the proposal and honeymoon offer Brooks had to run the idea past his wife, Trisha Yearwood. According to ABC News, she quickly agreed. However, after her husband made the offer, she said jokingly, “Nobody else can get engaged tonight!” Of course, the couple loved Garth’s kind gift, and the crowd quickly cheered after he made the announcement.

This isn’t the first time Brooks has done something of this kind while performing live. In fact, the star is known for the acts of kindness he bestows on fans during his concerts. For example, he gave the guitar off his back to a fan with cancer in 2014.
He also stopped a show earlier this month to show some love to an elderly fan. After noticing the sign she held, which read “Elvis was my last concert,” Brooks left the stage and serenaded his 89-year-old fan. Surprisingly, it was also the woman’s birthday, which made it an even sweeter present.
When Garth isn’t making his fans extremely happy, he’s busy making great music and creating extensive tours. Currently, he is planning a new live album from the tour he is finishing up. This is the tour he has taken three years to complete. Right now he has only a few stops left. He plans to spend over a week in LA to wrap up July before heading to Atlanta, Sioux Falls and Calgary.
