Avenged Sevenfold releases new song “Dose” for “Dungeon Hunter 5” game

Avenged Sevenfold have recently released the song “Dose” as a tie-in with the mobile game “Dungeon Hunter 5.” The song will be included on the soundtrack for an A7X-inspired level. I honestly can’t say much about the game. I can, however, say this about the song – wow.

“Musically, ‘Dose’ was supposed to be a Part 2 to ‘Roman Sky’ and had a very cinematic feel, but we turned it into more of a tripped-out metal song..”

– M. Shadows on “Dose”

The Game

For approximately two weeks, you can enter a totally badass dungeon where you’ll have to fight through zombies and demons. You will then come face to face with a brand new “boss.”  This “boss” is inspired by the band’s visual identity and the branding of their new album, “The Stage.” So, overall, the game sounds pretty cool. Let’s talk about the best part of this entire deal though – “Dose.”

The Song

Absolutely enthralling. The bewitching sound of the guitar matched with the crispness of the drums makes for something extraordinary! The entire song is orchestrated in such an artistic manner, one which tells a story that requires no words.

“The lyrics were inspired by an unsolved mystery that dates back to the 1950’s about an airline traveler who, if you believe the story, supposedly fell into our dimension from another.”

– M. Shadows on “Dose” lyrics

“Dose” has a very “Rock N’ Roll Renaissance” feel–fitting, being that the game has to do with dungeons and fighting beasts. The intro is fast and fun, and the entire song has an upbeat energy that makes it easy to enjoy. All around very well done.

Currently A7X is touring in support of its seventh album, “The Stage.”

You can listen to Avenged Sevenfold’s “Dose” at the beginning of the article. Experience all that makes this song awesome for yourself!
