Are you a fan of cinema and located near Indianapolis? Then its a great opportunity to check out the 2017 Indiana Film Fest at the Indianapolis Arts Museum being presented by Indiana State University this week! The film fest officially kicked off Thursday, July 13 and is ongoing through Sunday, July 23.
Being presented in Deboest Lecture Hall and The Toby theaters located in the Arts Museum will be more than a 100 films from local, national and international filmmakers. The films featured at the Indiana Film Fest are in four categories which are: short films, international films, American films, and documentaries.
The Indiana Film Fest is being sponsored by Indiana State University of course. It is being put on by following people: Dan Moore, Brandon Peters, Chris Overpeck, Jason Roemer, Craig Mince, Amanda Harbeck, Chris Holobeck, Abby Schoonveld, Jessica Turner, Wayne Indyk, and Joe Ball.
A variety of indie films are being shown as well as some bigger ones that may not be well known. The short films are being shown in bundles based on their genre. While there is a good variety of films from different locations, each day will feature at least one film created by Hoosier filmmakers. So if you want to show local support, definitely check the schedule and get out this event.
There was an Awards Night Party this past Saturday and if you missed that, fear not. Saturday, July 22 will be featuring a closing night party after its closing night feature of Patti Cake$. Sunday, July 23 will have the Best of in a few different categories shown.
