About “Hysteria”

Hysteria is the fourth studio album released by these U.K. born rockers. The album is Def Leppard’s best-selling album to date.

Impressively, “Hysteria” effortlessly achieved No. 1 in both the UK and the US. The album even went on to achieve Diamond status for sales of more than a whopping 10 million while selling more than 25 million worldwide.

The title of the album was thought up by drummer Rick Allen. It refers to his 1984 auto accident and the media coverage surrounding it. Additionally, it was the last album to feature guitarist Steve Clark before his death.

The making of the album took over three years and endured many obstacles along the way. This includes the December 1984 car accident that cost Allen his left arm.
