Folk fans can come celebrate their favorite music genre this August as the Indy Folk Fest puts on its annual show. Indy Folk Fest will have its finale performance at The Vogue on August 5.
Three bands will take the stage at The Vogue to end the festival with style. Rumpke Mountain Boys are a four-piece who perform both originals and covers in a subgenre of their own creation which they have called “Trashgrass,” a mix of bluegrass and jamgrass.
Restless Leg String Band hails from Lexington, Kentucky, the heart of bluegrass. Known for their exquisite picking and original songwriting, Restless Leg String Band’s high-energy show will make for a fun evening.
Bigfoot Yancey is an Indianapolis-based band with an affinity for raw production and Americana sounds. They’ve played all throughout Indiana and have gained quite the local following. Bigfoot Yancey is set to release their first full-length album this summer.
Though the Indy Folk Fest at Indy Hostel is an all ages and family-friendly show, the Folk Fest Finale at The Vogue is 21 and over.
