I happen to remember something about Salman Khan and my university days. Not that my university days are over. Anyways, when I was studying M.Sc. part II, my sister and I tied rakhi to my junior (doing his M.Sc. Part I). When he got to know that my sister is a big fan of Salman Khan, he began teasing her that the actor’s eyes popped out of his sockets! I joined him in teasing her. 🙂

Movie: This song appeared in 2012 Arbaaz Khan Productions’ super hit comic action flick Dabangg 2 (Brave Heart), produced and directed (debut) by Arbaaz Khan. This movie is a sequel to the 2010 Dabangg. The movie starred Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, late Vinod Khanna, Arbaaz Khan, Prakash Raj, etc.

The story continues from the previous installment, but, the location has shifted to Kanpur. Inspector Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) stays with his wife Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha), brother Makkhi (Arbaaz Khan) and stepfather Prajapati (Vinod Khanna). A little boy is abducted from his school and Chulbul deals with the situation.

The kidnappers are Bachcha’s (Prakash Raaj) henchmen. With permission from the commissioner (Manoj Pahwa), Chulbul launches a campaign against this don. Bachcha’s brother Genda (Deepak Dobriyal) tries to kidnap a girl, on whom he had an eye, from her wedding pandal. Chulbul kills him and Bachcha is furious with Chulbul. Bachcha goes to the commissioner and threatens dire consequences.

One night, Rajjo reveals to Chulbul that she is pregnant and they imagine that they are singing this song.

Song: The music of the song was scored by Sajid-Wajid and the lyrics were penned by Indeewar.

The man says, “We are connected by our breath, o beloved.” The girl joins in with, “My heart beats for you. My heart beats stopped when you said.” The man adds,”I told God that I would spend my life with this girl.”

Video: Cinematography is by Aseem Mishra and Mahesh Limaye.

The video opens with the lead pair on a motorbike and traveling on a deserted desert road. Salman Khan begins the song. Salman Khan visits a florist to buy some flowers for Sonakshi Sinha. In the nearby shop, Sonakshi Sinha is buying a cake for the leading man’s birthday.

When she sees him admiring the florist for holding flowers on her hair, she gets offended. He goes to the table she is sitting on and tucks the flower he had finalized. Now, he gets upset and she soothes him. The song peters out and the video ends there.

Artists: The playback has been sung by Sonu Nigam and Tulsi Kumar and the onscreen performances are by Salman Khan, Prakash Raj and others.

Cultural Influence: This filmi song expresses the love between the lead pair. The song and the artists are fine. The video is watchable for Salman Khan’s antics.
