The main protagonist is Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan). He lives with his half-brother Makhanchan ‘Makkhi’ (Arbaaz Khan), stepfather Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna) and mother Naina Devi (Dimple Kapadia) in Laalgunj, Uttar Pradesh. Though he has a troubled relationship with his stepfather and stepbrother, he works hard to become a policeman. Chulbul calls himself ‘Robinhood’ and still stays with his family. Makkhi falls in love with Nirmala (Mahie Gill). But, her father Masterji (Tinu Anand) is against the alliance.

On the other hand, Chulbul meets a poor potter Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha) during an encounter and falls in love with her. He finds out that her father (Mahesh Manjrekar) is a drunkard and arrests him on charges of attempted rape. Rajjo visits the police station and proves that her father would not rape anyone. Chulbul proposed to Rajjo, but she rejects his proposal since she has to take care of her father. Chulbul’s mother is found dead suddenly one day. Prajapati throws him out of the house.

Now, Chulbul becomes desperate to get married and sponsors her father’s drinks to requests him to intervene. Rajjo’s father accepts his proposal and commits suicide for their union. In the meantime, Makkhi uses Chulbul’s money for Nirmala’s dowry, which Masterji gives to Prajapati. Prajapati, who had been against the match relents and Makkhi’s marriage is finalized. Chulbul is not invited and barges into the pandal to get married to Rajjo in a bid to wed before his younger brother. Masterji stops Nirmala’s marriage in anger.

One day, Makkhi beats up one of his factory workers because the man had bumped into a few cartons and they had fallen onto the floor. The worker visits the police station with his mother to complain. Chulbul, in turn, beats up his brother in public to teach him a lesson. Chedi (Sonu Sood) is a politician with a chip on his shoulder for Chulbul. Chedi intervenes in the issue and helps Prajapati and his son to complain to the police commissioner. They extract an apology from Chulbul. Chulbul meets up with a local political leader Dayal Babu (Anupam Kher), who also dislikes Chedi. Dayal Babu and Chulbul come together to adulterate Chedi’s breweries to wrongly frame him for it.

Chulbul tries to locate Chedi, who is blissfully involved in enjoying this item number.

Song: Lyrics and music are by Lalit Pandit.

The gist of the song is, “Munni attracted disrepute by falling in love with her beloved. Her cheeks are like the rose. Her eyes are intoxicating. Her gait is like that of a queen. I became Zandu balm, darling, for you.”

Video: Cinematography is by Mahesh Limaye. Dance choreography is by Ganesh Acharya-Farah Khan-Mudassar Khan-Raju Khan-Radhika Rao-Vijay Sapru-Rajeev Soorti.

The video opens with the shot of the cardboard cut-out of Malaika Arora. The music has already begun. There are quite a few people around the pandaled area. Sonu Sood is among them. Malaika Arora comes out of her room dancing. Some male dancers join her. In between, police jeeps are seen moving on desolate roads.

Salman Khan and some other actors are sitting in one, wearing the police uniforms. Some female dancers also join Malaika Arora. Sonu Sood also sings a few lines. Saif Ali Khan and Amitabh Bachchan look-alikes also perform a few steps with the main dancer. Salman Khan suddenly appears with a bottle of alcohol on the balcony of one of the houses around.

Sonu Sood and his henchmen turn around and stop dancing, with the realization of being caught. Salman Khan has been given some vulgar gestures. I don’t know for whom these type of dance steps is intended. It is interesting to note that Salman Khan is Malaika Arora’s husband Arbaaz Khan’s brother in real life.

The song peters out and the video ends as Sonu Sood roughly catches hold of Malaika Arora’s hand to stop her from continuing the dance.

Artists: The playback has been sung by Aishwarya, Mamta Sharma and Master Saleem and the onscreen performances are by Malaika Arora, Sonu Sood, Salman Khan and others.

Cultural Influence: This is the typical filmi item song, inspired by an old Bhojpuri song Launda badnaam hua Naseeban tere liye…. The popular song and the artists are fine. The video is watchable for the same.
