Blake Shelton took some time out of his latest concert to help out a Marine in need. Throughout his performance, he could tell that US Marine Brannon LeBouef was trying to get his attention. It turns out that LeBouef needed Shelton’s help proposing to his girlfriend, Ashley Williams.
Eventually, Shelton stopped the show and allowed cameras to turn towards the couple where LeBouef proposed. Before allowing the sweet moment to take place, Shelton had a few words to say.
“I don’t normally do this,” he told the crowd. “Actually, I never do this because you just never know how it’s going to work out. This guy up here has been holding up his phone to me every damn time I walk by, making me feel guilty, and it worked. I guess I’m getting soft in my old age.”
Luckily, Ashley did say yes to the proposal, and the happy couple could officially celebrate.
You can watch the sweet moment in the video above.
This proposal took place at the Bayou Country Superfest where Blake Shelton was the closing act. The festival welcomed around 50,000 to 60,000 fans over the course of the event where stars like Shelton and Rhett Akins performed along with several others.
Typically, this festival is held in Baton Rouge, but it moved to New Orleans for this season. Sadly, numbers were down this year from last when around 100,000 fans showed up for the performances. In 2015, 125,000 fans attended the show.
While the numbers might not have been there this year, Shelton’s kind act is one everyone’s talking about. Hopefully, the Bayou Country Superfest will continue throughout the years so fans from around the world can share more moments like these.
After this performance, Shelton headed off to continue his tour, which will wrap up in September.
