One day, Saudagar Singh (Amjad Khan) tells Rajesh that his father had given a man a belt full of diamonds when he had returned to India as he had suffered a fatal heart attack. But, this man had not forwarded the belt to Rajesh. Thus, Saudagar Singh convinces Rajesh that he could help him find the diamonds.
In the meanwhile, Sanjay Kumar (Tariq Khan) is in love with Kaajal (Kaajal Kiran) from childhood. But, now, years later, Kaajal’s father Kishorilal (Kamal Kapoor) opposes the alliance because Sanjay comes from a poor family. Soon, Sanjay becomes the secretary of Rajesh, who is masquerading as Manjeet. Kaajal is told to visit Manjeet by her father. When Sanjay opens the door for her, she mistakes him for the person she was supposed to meet. They begin to go out together on dates.
Soon, Kaajal finds out that Manjeet is a different person altogether. The man she met is actually Sanjay. Manjeet and Kaajal begin to date each other. Manjeet, soon, participates in a song and dance competition where all his challengers lose. Finally, Sanjay appears from nowhere to challenge him. Sanjay sings this song at this time.

The man says, “O what do you know about love? This get-together of love is not a get-together, it is the heart itself.”

The video opens with Rishi Kapoor looking at Tariq Khan in shock. The next shot shows Tariq Khan tying a red band around his head. The music has already changed. He throws his coat away and welcomes a girl, who is supporting him. She gives him a pan and he begins chewing it. She takes the guitar from him to strum it.
Tariq Khan begins the next song. He performs a few steps on his knees. In the next shot, he is back on his feet and dancing. When Kaajal Kiran and her friends move toward Rishi Kapoor’s part of the stage, he ends the song. He is still in the mood to compete. The video ends there.
Artists: The playback of this song was sung by R D Burman and onscreen performance is by Tariq Khan, Kaajal Kiran and Rishi Kapoor among others.
Cultural Influence: This is a typical filmi song and dance contest where Rishi Kapoor is challenged by Tariq Khan. Both are wooing Kaajal Kiran. At that time, Tariq Khan sings this song. The song and the artists are good. The video is watchable for the same.
