This past weekend, country music stormed the stage at the iHeartCountry Festival in Austin, Texas. The festival took place on May 6 at the Frank Irwin Center. Throughout the night, 12 top country music stars hit the stage, each for 20 minutes.
According to CMT, eight of them had been there before: Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert, Little Big Town, and Jake Owen. Other performers included Kelsea Ballerini, Kip Moore, and Old Dominion.
Luckily, everything went as planned, and those attending the concert seemed to have a splendid time. Also enjoying the show from the audience were a few famous faces like Scott Eastwood and Chad Michael Murphy.
Before the main event, fans spent the day enjoying a concert leading up to the real show. Many up-and-coming stars performed during the day, including Kip Moore, Jon Pardi, and Kane Brown, so those who were there for the entire event definitely got a good show out of the deal.
However, there were some critics of the whole experience. Since many of the artists had performed at the festival before, they felt as though much of the concert was a repeat of what they had already seen. Many of the artists even played the same songs due to the time constraints.
All in all, fans did seem to enjoy the show. Many of the stars also enjoyed themselves. Dierks Bentley, for example, had a great time watching Jason Aldean perform; he even recorded part of the performance on his phone. You can watch that fun video here.
The iHeartCountry Festival is an annual event. This past weekend was the fourth festival, and there is no indication they’ll stop anytime soon. If you haven’t already made it to one of these festivals, you definitely don’t want to miss out in the future.
