Tori Amos Announces New Studio Album and World Tour!

The ever-so-mystical, highly intuitive and musically brilliant Mezzo-soprano Tori Amos has announced that her 15th studio album – “Native Invader” – will officially make its way to the general public on September 8. Additionally, she will be touring throughout Europe from September of this year to October, followed by a visit to North America in November and December.

The solo career of the terrifically innovative and idiosyncratic artist began with her extraordinary 1992 album “Little Earthquakes” – my personal favorite. The unadulterated authenticity of the lyrics in every single one of the album’s songs was raw, biting, and consisted of difficult confessions and topics of realities that have long been forced to linger within shadows, especially for women. A clear example of this can be found in the song “Silent All These Years”, which you can listen to below.

Listening to, reading, and experiencing Amos’ story-like lyrics quite literally transitions you into a whole new world – one of safety, understanding, one where you can sing along with music which speaks lightly what you wish you could scream from every mountaintop. Amos provides an escape unlike any other through her art, and her upcoming album “Native Invader” – if goes as the singer plans – will contain a depth that equals or even surpasses all other albums she has produced. It will be a remarkable work of art, because this is a musician who awakens untouched beauty and allows us the opportunity to experience that beauty through vocals and music unlike most of what we have come to know.

“Sonically and Visually, I wanted to take a look at how Nature creates with her opposing forces, becoming the ultimate regenerator through her cycles of death and life.”

Tori Amos tells Rolling Stone regarding inspiration for “Native Invader”

Amos has released information regarding tour dates and where she will be traveling for her shows, which you can find below. Whether or not you’re a long time fan of the modestly whimsical and impassioned artist,  you will be able to appreciate the anticipated album and the stories it has to tell – Amos is notorious for creating pieces of music that educate untouched portions of our minds and our spirits, so do yourself a favor and allow the artist to enlighten you. While you await the album’s release, I recommend you check out “Little Earthquakes” to get an idea of what magic you shall likely experience from “Native Invader”.
