Movie: This song appeared in 1977 Great Ganges Film Corporation’s Shankar-Hussain (2 names) directed by Yusuf Nakvee produced by Tajdar Kamal and Hari Singhaney. The movie starred late Pradeep Kumar, Kawaljeet Singh, Madhuchanda, Suhail, late Gajanan Jagirdar, late Jalal Agha, late Roopesh Kumar, Dina Pathak, etc.
Dr. Uday Shankar (Shree Ram Lagoo) is a kind-hearted Hindu medical doctor and decides to practice medicine in Suhana village instead of making money in a large city. Devastating floods in a nearby village lands an orphan Muslim child Hussain in his arms. The good doctor raises this child with his own son Ajay as a Muslim. Though living in a Hindu household, Hussain grows up into a practicing Muslim. Everybody in the household loves him and he is also very much attached to the family.
Years later Hussain is studying in college and Ajay completes his medical studies to return home. Hussain goes to pick up Ajay and sees a Muslim girl Gulsum (Madhuchanda) to fall in love with her. When they reach Suhana, Hussain gets friendly with Gulsum’s father (Gajanan Jagirdar) and visits their home. At that time he invites them for the Id celebrations at their home. This qawwali is sung during the competition.

The men sing that having seen their beloved, their eyes have become unwell. The eyes are fading and frightened. They are blushing in the party of beloveds.

The video opens with Kawaljeet looking at Madhuchanda and being impressed by her beauty. The next shot is of the beginning of the qawwali recital. Jalal Agha is singing the song. He also plays the dafli. Roopesh Kumar also joins the song. Kawaljeet is looking for Madhuchanda and Gajanan Jagirdar. They haven’t arrived yet.
Soon, Gajanan Jagirdar and Madhuchanda arrive. Madhuchanda is wearing a burkha. Kawaljeet runs to them and invites them inside. Madhuchanda stumbles and is about to fall. She is caught by Gajanan Jagirdar. Madhu Malini, who plays Kawaljeet’s sister in the movie, takes Madhuchanda inside toward the ladies’ area.
Kawaljeet introduces Gajanan Jagirdar to Shree Ram Lagoo. Gajanan Jagirdar praises the singers. Roopesh Kumar and Jalal Agha dance while playing the dafli. The song peters off and Roopesh Kumar and Jalal Agha hug each other. The video ends there.
