Luke Combs is setting out to make fans pretty happy this year. He just announced that he will be releasing his debut album in 2017. The album is set to release on June 2 and fans are highly anticipating it. It will feature 12 new songs, each of which he co-wrote. In a press release regarding the album, Combs expressed his excitement for fans to hear the new music.
“I couldn’t be more proud of this album. These songs mean so much to me and all my friends who I wrote them with. From North Carolina to Nashville, this project has been such a long time in the making and I can’t wait for the fans to hear it. I sincerely hope they enjoy the album because they are the reason I do what I do.”
The new album will follow his hit single “Hurricane” that was released last year. This single sold around 209,000 copies and hit number 4 on country music charts. It was also the song that gave Combs his first music video, which you can watch below.
Luke Combs is a North Carolina native and grew up in Asheville. He started his singing career at a young age and even performed a solo at Carnegie Hall in high school. Eventually, Combs moved to Nashville to pursue his music career after a stint at Appalachian State University. He says he draws inspiration from artists like Eric Church and tries to present his true self to his fans so that they can have an authentic experience with his music.
Currently, his music career is just taking off. He’s now planning to join Brantley Gilbert on “The Devil Don’t Sleep” tour. It is going on throughout the summer, and he will hit up several cities around the country. The entire tour will wrap up in September in Raleigh, NC. You can check out the full dates on his website.
