Movie: This song appeared in 1982 romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam (Darling, Your Promise), produced by Barkhaa Roy and directed by Narender Bedi for the banner Barkhaa Movies. This movie starred Kamal Hasan, Reena Roy, Seema Deo, Kader Khan, Ranjeet, late Jeevan, etc.
Ramlal Sharma (Kader Khan) is a police informer and receives money for his services to the police. He uses that money to buy a guitar for his son Sunny. When he returns home completely drunk, he is scolded by his wife Sudha (Seema Deo). He ignores the chastising and goes to sleep on the sofa itself.
When Wilson (Jeevan) finds out that Ramlal is the police informer, he arranges for Ramlal to kill someone during a fight and informs the police about it. Ramlal has to run for his life. Years later Sunny is Sunil (Kamal Hasan) and he is a famous dancer-performer. Many girls have a crush on him. After a couple of mishaps between them, Sunil disrupts Nisha’s (Reena Roy) dance performance. This is the song he sings at that time.

The video opens with the entry of Reena Roy into the stage with some other dancers. Guddi Maruti and 2 other girls sing. Kamal Hasan, who is in the audience; gets up, stretches and yawns. He is more famous in the area, so the audience boos off the girls and requests him to take over the performance. Reena Roy gets angry.
Kamal Hasan begins to sing and dance. Some male dancers join him. He approaches Reena Roy and tries to hug her. But, she ducks and tries to hit him instead. In turn, he ducks every time she tries to hit him. He makes her dance with him. The video ends with the song.
