Movie: This song appeared in 1979 hit drama Suhaag (The Condition of a Woman, when her Husband is Alive) produced by Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Shakti Subhash Sharma, Ramesh Sharma and Prakash Trehan and directed by Manmohan Desai. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Shashi Kapoor, late Parveen Babi, late Amjad Khan, Kader Khan, late Nirupa Roy, Ranjeet and late Jeevan.
After several years of marriage Vikram Kapoor (Amjad Khan) abandons his wife Durga (Nirupa Roy). Vikram is a criminal and has also annoyed his rival gangster Jaggi (Kader Khan). Durga has twins and Jaggi steals one of them to sell him to a bootlegger called Pascal (Jeevan). With difficulty, Durga brings up one of the twins Kishen (Shashi Kapoor) and has decided to give up finding her other son. Kishan is now a devoted police officer.
In the meantime, Pascal has exploited the other boy Amit (Amitabh Bachchan), to keep him an illiterate and make him a petty criminal as well as addicted to alcohol. This results in a confrontation between Amit and Kishan, but eventually, they settle their differences and become good friends. Amit builds a Durga temple and most of the money required is given by Vikram in return for Amit killing Kishan during Navaratri festival at his Maa Sherawali temple. Amit is in jeopardy but informs Kishan about it. So Kishan keeps a lookout for Vikram with other police officers.
During the devotional song-and-dance-sequence, Vikram comes to the temple and tries to kill Kishan. Kishan’s life is saved. But, he ends up losing his eyesight in the ensuing fight. Kishan convinces his superiors to recruit Amit into the police force. Amit gives up alcohol for this. Kishan and Amit together go on a rampage arresting petty criminals. It is during this time that both sing this song. Kishan’s girlfriend Anu also joins them in the song.

The video opens with Amitabh Bachchan starting a motorbike and sitting in the front. He makes blind Shashi Kapoor sit behind him. The music has already begun. He stops the bike and trains Shashi Kapoor to run it. Both of them begin to sing the song. Amitabh Bachchan sound-trains Shashi Kapoor with artificial parakeets.
He tells Parveen Babi to press a button when the parakeets would squeak and Shashi Kapoor shoots them. She takes over the song and hugs Shashi Kapoor. Amitabh Bachchan covers his eyes so that he cannot see the pair romancing. All the 3 people travel on the bike. Shashi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan together raid illegal alcohol centers and close them down.
Amitabh Bachchan escorts Shashi Kapoor to a temple, where Nirupa Roy is already there. The video ends with Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor and Nirupa Roy going off in a jeep.
