26-year-old Thomas Rhett and his wife have just announced that their new baby will be a girl.
Adding a baby to the family is always an exciting adventure. But, as a country-music star with a huge fan-base, the experience is even more enjoyable.
The announcement came via an Instagram video. Rhett, his wife, and their family chose to have a cake cutting ceremony to determine the gender of the baby. Naturally, Rhett had to have a little fun and tease his family a bit before he finally revealed the secret the cake was hiding.
The couple is extremely excited about the addition to their family, but it won’t be their only one. They have also announced that they are in the process of adopting a child from Africa. However, no announcements have been made regarding when that child will be coming home or whether it’s a girl or a boy.
Interestingly enough, Thomas Rhett said that he found out about his wife’s pregnancy while they were in Africa. Rhett told People that he and his wife were there with Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and his wife.
“We were in Tanzania on a seven-day safari with Tyler and his wife, Hayley. And I was literally the last person to find out in our group!”
Rhett and his wife have been together four years, but weren’t planning to have a child of their own this soon since they’re in the process of adopting a baby. But, they’re thrilled with this little surprise and are excited to add both children to their family very soon.
When it comes to Rhett’s music career, he’s definitely going to be busy this year. He is set to tour with Kelsea Ballerini, Russell Dickerson and Ryan Hurd starting late in February and continuing on through November.
