Dustin Lynch is preparing to release his third studio album, but before the release, he’s given us all a little sneak peek with a few early releases. Just last week, he released the second single from the album “Small Town Boy”.
The new single was written by Kyle Fishman, Ben Hayslip and Rhett Akins. It is filled with a slow rock sound and lyrics to honor the small towns where many of our favorite country music singers hail from. The song is perfect for enjoying while driving around one of those small towns.
In a press release regarding the song, “Small Town Boy?”, Lynch explains that the lyrics are about “being in love with someone for who they are and what makes them unique”. Lynch goes on to say that the song reminds him of his small hometown of Tullahoma, Tenn..
There’s no denying the unique sound of this song, and many of Lynch’s fans will love adding the single to their collection. However, some critics are saying that the rock version is a little less country than they would like.
This is the second song Lynch has released off this album. It follows “Seein’ Red”, which is another familiar tune and Lynch’s fourth straight number one hit. Currently, no word is available on when we can expect to see the release of the entire album. Fans will simply have to wait patiently and enjoy the two songs that are out now.
Lynch is touring with Florida Georgia Line on their ‘Dig Your Roots’ tour. In May, he will join Brad Paisley for his “Life Amplified World Tour”. The up and coming country music star also has several concerts of his own to enjoy this spring and early summer.
