Jess Glynne

Jessica Hannah, known as Jess Glynne is an English singer and songwriter, currently signed to Atlantic Records. In 2015 she became the second British female solo artist after Cheryl to get five number one hit solos in the UK.

Glynne grew up in North London. Her father was an estate agent and her mother worked in A&R in the music industry. At the age of 15, Jess applied for the television show, The X Factor, and dropped out of her audition process after a disagreement with the producers.

Glynne then moved on to working at boutiques, fitness centers, and hairdressers. After traveling around for a while, Jess settled working for a music management company to network with songwriters and producers, eventually starting a music company of her own.

In 2013, Glynne signed with Atlantic Records and her music career took off. Her breakthrough started in 2013 when producer Route 94 contacted Jess about rewriting and providing vocals for his song, “My Love.” “My Love,” featuring Jess Glynne, was released in Oct., 2013. After the release, Jess was approached by Clean Bandit to be featured on their song, {“Rather Be”. Rather Be became the third fastest-selling and streamed song of 2014. For her work, Jess won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.

Winning a Grammy before her first album even came out–Jess Glynne is just that good. Seriously how does she do it?  For her, the Grammy experience was surreal.

She’s a very honest person and that is what her music shows. Her music is a reflection of her life experiences and her reactions. From being an X Factor dropout to winning a Grammy with no help, Jess is taking the lead in the music industry.
