For Tim McGraw fans, there is no question which song of 2016 was the best. But, now we have official word that McGraw’s hit ‘Humble and Kind’ was the best of the year. At the 2017 Grammy Awards, the hit took home the Country Song of the Year Award.

This particular award is one that is presented to the songwriter. In this case, Lori McKenna took the stage to accept the prize. This is her second win in this category after winning last year for Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush.” While we all knew it was the best, Lori was shocked when she won the award during the pre-telecast portion of the show. Naturally, during her acceptance speech, she thanked Tim McGraw for his part in the song.

Lori wrote the song as a simple prayer for her five kids. She’s now excited and surprised about the way it turned out and how popular the song became. Now, however, she’s focused on the future. After her big win, she told CMT, that she has already written a couple of songs with some friends.

While the song is powerful in and of itself, the official music video creates a beautiful visual to go along with the lyrics of the song. If you want to relive this powerful experience, check out the video below.
