He also makes an enemy of a co-worker Mangal (Shatrughan Sinha), who is an escaped convict, hiding in the miners’ community to avoid police. Anita (Parveen Babi) is a journalist, who has come to cover the mine and is a friend of Ravi. Channo (Neetu Singh) is the local small decorative items vendor. Jagga (Parikshit Sahni) is a friend of the community and a truck driver.
The owner Seth Dhanraj (Prem Chopra) does not support their life in the mines and the community. He considers their lives insignificant in front of money. He gives them poor equipment, insufficient medical supplies and no facilities. The time comes when the mine workers are to be given a bonus for their work during some festival. The owner Seth Dhanraj (Prem Chopra) decides to give only one month’s bonus instead of 3. The workers protest in front of his home. Ravi comes to the rescue of the workers and convinces Dhanraj to give them 3 months’ bonus. This is actually a ploy of the owner to get rid of Ravi soon.
But, Ravi and the workers are blissfully ignorant of the scheme. The workers enjoy the night in dance singing this song. Ravi, Anita, Jagga, Mangal and Channo dance till dawn with the workers to the tune of this song.
