Ratan, on the other hand, has been failing in economics since the last 4 years. He finds out that Sujata cannot get married due to dowry issues. Once, his hotel is given the catering job to entertain Kripa Shankar (Utpal Dutt) at Sujata’s home. Kripa Shankar is visiting them to ‘see’ her for the marriage of his son. Kripa Shankar openly asks a high dowry, which Sujata’s father (Sujit Kumar) cannot provide. Sujata insults Kripa Shankar. He, in turn ,insults the whole community of workers in the presence of Ratan and his colleague that she should get married to someone from the workforce. Consequently, Sujata loses her job.

Ratan and his friends insult Kripa Shankar in front of a large audience, where he is being felicitated. As a result, Ratan not only loses his job but also gets beaten up. When Ratan and Sujata meet next, he tells her about the loss of his job and begins to sing this song. Sujata joins him in the song.

Song: The lyrics of this song were penned by Anjaan and the music was composed by R D Burman.

The man wants to know why the girl is not singing. The girl says that her mood is not right for a song, thus she is not singing. There are a lot of external influences on her mood as well.

Video: Cinematography is by P L Rai.

The video opens with Rakesh Roshan drinking juice from a juice center and coming out to meet Rati Agnihotri. When they walk together in a garden, Rakesh Roshan begins to sing this song. The next shot is of children playing on a merry-go-round. Rakesh Roshan’s left arm is in a sling. Suddenly, the sling gives away and Rati Agnihotri helps him tie it back up.

There is a change of dress and location. They are coming out of a hospital and now, his arm is not in a sling. He shows Rati Agnihotri that his arm is better now. They are in a garden now. Suddenly, they move right into the range of a water sprinkler and they try to move to a safe distance. Rakesh Roshan wipes Rati Agnihotri’s glasses and returns it to her. Again there is a change of location.

One of Rati Agnihotri’s slippers gets torn and she moves toward some steps to sit on them. Rakesh Roshan tries to repair the slipper. The video ends with the end of the song.

Artists: The playback of this song was sung by S P Balasubramaniam and Asha Bhonsle and the onscreen performances are by Rakesh Roshan and Rati Agnihotri.

Cultural Influence: The hero and the heroine have not yet become fast friends. Both have lost their jobs. The situation is similar for them. He asks why she is not singing. The heroine says that she is not in a position to sing the song she wants. The song is good and the video watchable.
