Movie: This song appeared in the hit award-winning romantic drama produced by Yash Chopra and T Subbarami Reddy and directed by Yash Chopra under the banner of Yash-Raj Films. The movie starred Rishi Kapoor, Sridevi, Vinod Khanna, etc.

Rohit (Rishi Kapoor) meets Chandni (Sridevi) at a wedding and falls in love with her. He pursues her persistently until she agrees to date him and they get engaged. Due to an accident, Rohit loses the function of his lower limbs. But, Chandni keeps visiting him, showering her affection on him despite the hatred she is subjected to by Rohit’s family. Eventually, Rohit goes into depression and rejects her affection. Chandni decides to leave the city. When she is on the way to Mumbai, she remembers how Rohit had wooed her through this song.

Song: The music of this song was composed by Shiv-Hari and the lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi.

The man says that he took the color from the clouds and the girl’s kohl to write her name on his heart. The girl on the other hand is worried about her reputation.

The video opens with Sridevi having tears in her eyes and remembering her past with Rishi Kapoor. She is wearing a light blue sari. The next shot is of Sridevi running toward Rishi Kapoor and intentionally falling in front of him on the grass. She is wearing a beautiful skirt blouse pair. He is wearing a red shirt and white trousers. He moves her hair from her face. She looks up and winks.

He begins the song and they also dance with small movements. Soon, she joins in the singing, too. Now, they are in a train and they have changed their dresses. She is wearing a red shirt and blue jeans, while he is wearing a white and gray shirt and white trousers. When she sits near him, he gets hurt on his leg. She begins to tickle him.

Next, they are in a boat and Sridevi plays a long flute. He snatches the flute from her and throws it away, when she tries to take it away, to continue singing. She searches in his pockets for a gift. There is another change of location. This time it is a snow-clad place and they are wearing suitable dresses. The video ends with Sridevi back in the bus sadly going in a journey she is forced to take.
