Movie: This song appears in the 1969 semi-hit movie Yakeen (Faith, Belief) directed by Brij and produced by Deven Verma under the banner of Navaratna Films. The movie starred Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Kamini Kaushal, late David, late Anwar Hussain, late M B Shetty, late Asit Sen, Bhram Bharadwaj, Helen, etc.

Rajesh Varma (Dharmendra) is a scientist. He is injured during a secret experiment with Dr. Sharma (Bhram Bharadwaj). He is granted leave to recover. He lives in Delhi with his dog and cook, Bhola (Asit Sen). He loves Rita (Sharmila Tagore). When he goes to another city to meet her and it turns out that she is angry with him. She does not take his calls. But he meets her when she goes out for jogging. That is the time in the movie when Rajesh sings this song to appease her.

Song: The music of this song was composed by Shankar-Jaikishen and the lyrics were penned by Hasrat Jaipuri.

The man tries to explain to the girl how important she is to him. He tries to convince her desperately.

The video opens with Sharmila Tagore looking for something on a lonely road. The next shot is of Dharmendra sitting on a tree and Sharmila Tagore getting angry. Dharmendra gets down from the tree and comes toward Sharmila Tagore. She turns away from him and he places his arms around her neck. He goes wherever she does to convince her about his love.

She is wearing white shorts and blouse while he is wearing blue trousers and blue jacket on a white shirt. He picks her up on his shoulder and walks away toward his car. She gets on the car and turns to the other side to get down from it. He also gets on the car to go to the other side. As she runs away from him, he follows her in his car.

He pulls her onto the hood of the moving car. She soon jumps off the car and goes in the opposite direction. Now she is near a swimming pool and he has followed her there. He takes a shortcut and jumps in front of her. He catches hold of her hand and tries to pull her into his arms. She pushes him into the pool. He continues to sing even in the water.

She is smiling now. The video ends with Sharmila Tagore making tea.

Artists: The playback singer is Mohammad Rafi and onscreen performances are by Dharmendra and Sharmila Tagore.

Cultural Influence: The hero doesn’t meet the heroine regularly, so she is upset. This is a typical filmi song, where the hero tries to appease the heroine. The song is good and has been rendered well by Mohammad Rafi. The video is watchable.
